Most businesses can't justify a senior technology leader on payroll — but the technology bets don't get any smaller. Juniper & Co. exists to close that gap.

Twenty years building the platforms other engineers rely on.

I've been shipping production software since 2002 — from running georgiadogs.com at the University of Georgia, to Turner Sports and nba.com, to joining a sports-video startup as its fifth employee and leaving as its Director of Technical Operations. That startup became the NFHS Network, which now streams tens of thousands of live events a year and was valued at nearly a billion dollars in 2022.

Most recently I was a Principal Software Engineer at Cox Automotive, where I built the Logistics division's cloud platform from scratch — the platform 200+ engineers across 30+ teams shipped on every day. It served 15 billion requests a year at 99.99% uptime, carried a $40 million re-platforming, and moved four terabytes of data between databases without losing a byte. In my final years there I led the shift to AI-first engineering practices — work that took internal tooling delivery from weeks to days.

Consulting isn't new to me either: I've done contract modernization work for Home Depot and Manheim, and client work at Trineo, a consultancy acquired by Traction on Demand and later folded into Salesforce. Juniper & Co. is a new firm; the experience behind it isn't.

I started Juniper & Co. to bring that kind of leverage to businesses that can't — and shouldn't need to — build it in-house.

When you hire Juniper & Co., you get me — not an account manager, not a rotating bench of juniors. I scope the work, I do the work, and you always know who to call.

That's also how this firm started: my first client came through a professional relationship that goes back nearly twenty years. It's the way I like to work — long relationships, plain talk, and software that outlasts the engagement.

Based in Denver, working with clients nationwide.

What I value

Juniper & Co. is new; these principles aren't. They're how I've worked for twenty years, written down.

Human-first, AI-enabled

AI works on your software; a human works with you. The workflows are AI-first — the person in the room, when it matters, is real and present.

You work with me

No bench, no handoffs. The senior person you meet on the first call is the person who delivers.

You own everything

Code, infrastructure, accounts, documentation — everything runs in your name from day one. No lock-in, ever.

Plain talk

Decisions explained in business terms, trade-offs included. No enterprise theater, no jargon fog.

Small bets first

Every engagement starts with a fixed-scope diagnostic that's yours to keep. Retainers come only after something works.

Built to last

Like the juniper tree this company is named for: long-lived, deep-rooted, durable. I optimize for systems — and relationships — that hold up for years.

PlayON Sports

  • Joined as the fifth employee; architected the live sports video platform.

Trineo

  • Senior developer at a consultancy acquired by Traction on Demand, later folded into Salesforce — client work including the Ikon Pass e-commerce storefront.
2018–2026

Cox Automotive

  • 15 billion requests a year at 99.99% uptime; a 4TB zero-loss database migration; a $40M re-platforming carried in production.
  • Led the adoption of AI-first engineering practices — internal tooling delivery went from weeks to days.
2026
